The Story

We collaborated with LUSH to transform Warwick Workout gym, by rebranding to Courtside Fitness.

This involved the creation of a strategic visual brand identity, seamlessly extending into print and digital collateral, and the crafting of illustrated murals. Having both the branding and illustration components for Anema Designs this was a dream project!

The rebrand’s main focus is a dynamic and purposeful brand, Courtside Fitness contributes to the individualised athletic development of each member, empowering them to reach their optimal potential through support and training. This holistic transformation redefines the Courtside Fitness space, seamlessly merging fitness and personal growth.

Client Results and ROI

A renewed brand identity has set up Courtside Fitness to continue it’s brand purpose and aim is to provide an athletic performance based gym, where every individual is developed to become their best.

We had the opportunity to speak to the Manager of Courtside Fitness in 2022, who provided us with the following feedback:

  • Achieved growth during the winter months, an uncommon occurrence for fitness facilities.

  • Have maintained stability following the winter period.

  • Managers believe will get a return on investment with rebrand.

  • Engaging with current and prospective members, especially with outside mural.

  • Consistent visual brand identity across multiple touch points. Consistency = increase trust and memorability!

  • Created a stand out brand with a point of difference.

  • Lack of Differentiation
The gym looking the same as others with no clear point of difference translated visually, can result in potential members not seeing a reason or the why to choose it over other options in the market.

    Limited Appeal
Without a standout identity, the gym can miss the chance to connect with a specific target audience. A generic appearance could fail to resonate with individuals seeking a particular fitness experience, in this case an ‘athletic performance based.

    Engagement Challenges
Without strong member connections, motivation to engage in programs or recommend the gym may wane. A vibrant community is crucial for retention and satisfaction, and its absence may lead the gym to overlook opportunities for an engaging and supportive atmosphere that enhances overall member involvement..

  • Drawing inspiration from basketball and Alysha’s childhood experiences playing the sport, we explored the dynamic use of bright colours and patterns reminiscent of courts and balls, similar to the approaches taken by big known name brands like Nike and Adidas, but changing it to suite Courtside Fitness and the brief. For the logo, we delved into creatively combining the letters 'C' and 'F' to evoke motion, resembling a ball—a design choice that aligns with Courtside Fitness's commitment to enhancing the athletic development of its members. In terms of the mural illustrations, we used the bright geometric shapes set against portraits of sports icons like Muhammad Ali and Kobe Bryant in black and white, creating a striking contrast with the vibrant patterns and colours. These illustrations of sports people where treated and common licensed photos only used.
